Children

We offer the following opportunities for children to grow in their faith. These opportunities are designed to partner with parents in their role of raising children in faith.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

God and the child have a unique relationship with one another particularly before the age of six. Your child is particularly capable of receiving and enjoying the most essential elements of our faith—the announcement of God’s love especially experienced through Jesus, the Good Shepherd. Children need their own place to foster the growth of that relationship. Holy Trinity invites your 3-6 year old child to participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a Montessori approach to faith formation which helps prepare children for life in the church and the world beyond. We currently offer two different sessions of Level One, which serves the 3-6 year old child, on Monday from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm and Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please contact Michelle Helm in the Faith Formation office at 255-3162, ext. 200 or at mhelm@holytrinitydm.org to register.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

We want to give children the ability to learn about our Catholic faith in a way that they can understand. Children 4 through 4th grade are welcome to participate in the Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 8:30a.m. & 10:30 a.m. Masses. The children are dismissed after the Opening Prayer and return after the Offertory Hymn. This is an opportunity for children to gather where they can hear the readings and the homily in a way that they can comprehend. If you have questions, contact John Mertes at johnm@holytrinitydm.org or call 255-3162 ext. 224.

Faith Formation/Religious Education

We are honored to walk with your child on their faith journey. The Faith Formation Program usually meets each Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. in the Holy Trinity School Building from September through early May. This year with COVID, adjustments will be made. Classes for 2020-2021 tentatively begin in October. HT’s Faith Formation Program supports and enriches the faith development of Holy Trinity’s public school students in the 1st through 8th grades. CLICK HERE for Registration Form. For questions, contact John Mertes at johnm@holytrinitydm.org or call 255-3162 ext. 224.
