What is PBIS?
School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a systemic approach to achieving social and academic goals while preventing problem behaviors with ALL students.
The purpose of the Trinity Traits – Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, is to establish and maintain a safe and effective school environment that maximizes the academic achievement and social-emotional-behavioral competence of all students.
School-Wide Expectations: Be Respecful, Be Responsible, Be Safe
At the beginning of the academic year, staff members teach the school-wide expectations to students. Students learn about the expectations in the classrooms, hallways, restrooms, lunchroom, playground, at assemblies, and in the church. Additional instruction is provided as necessary. Positive behavior is promoted through the use of posters and videos.

- Procedures for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the PBIS program on a regular basis

Academic achievement and appropriate behavioral skills are the results of school, staff, and families working together to provide a continuum of support for all students.
At Holy Trinity, this support includes:
- School-wide instruction for all students (Core Instruction)
- Instructional interventions for students who are at risk for academic or social and behavioral problems (Supplemental Instruction)
- Individualized instruction for students with intense and chronic academic or behavioral problems (Intensive Instruction)
Data is collected to determine the effectiveness of the Trinity Traits Program. The data is also used to determine changes that need to be made to make the program more effective for all students. Lastly, the PBIS leadership team will use data to identify students who may need more instructional or individualized support in order to be successful at Holy Trinity School.
How Can You Get Involved?
Ask your child about the Trinity Traits. Praise your child for earning Trinity Tokens or Bucks and rewards at school. Refer to the expectations when you are talking about expected behaviors at home or in the community. Volunteer at school or donate items that can be used for PBIS rewards.
What does PBIS look like at Holy Trinity?
At Holy Trinity, students can earn Trinity Tokens (elementary) or Trinity Bucks (middle school) when they are spotted by a staff member living out any of the three Trinity Traits. Students can redeem their tokens or bucks for a variety of prizes and/or passes which can be purchased twice a month on PBIS shopping days. Near the end of every trimester, middle school students that meant the academic and behavior requirements that trimester celebrate their hard work during a reward day. Staff will implement consistent consequences for students who demonstrate inappropriate behaviors. A student will be asked to go to the office if s/he demonstrates significantly disruptive or dangerous behavior. The safety of all students is a priority at Holy Trinity. If a student demonstrates a minor problematic behavior, the teacher will follow classroom procedures to manage the behavior. If the minor behavior is repeated, the student may be given a natural consequence along with reteaching or sent to the office. The teacher or administrator will impose a consequence for the behavior. The potential consequences range from verbal reprimands, loss of privileges (recess), quiet table, detention, time-out, corrective consequences, visit with the administrator, parent contact, and suspension or expulsion.
